2019 Carbon County Visitors Guide

The new guide to everything travel related in Carbon County, Wyoming is now available for download or in a printed version. 

The Carbon County Visitors' Council released the new guide in May.  This years' guide features a new cover photo taken on the Medicine Bow Peak trail and features information on each community within the county including Rawlins, Saratoga, Encampment, Riverside, Medicine Bow, Hanna, Elk Mountain, Baggs, Dixon, Savery, and Sinclair.

Historic Trails, Scenic Byways & Interstate 80

It also has information on historic trails that pass through the county including the Overland Trail, Oregon Trail, Mormon Trail, and both the original route of the Union Pacific Railroad and the Lincoln Highway. Although Interstate 80 is now the trail of choice for most travelers through the county it also outlines several scenic back roads and byways for those who like to get off the beaten path.

A special feature included in the guide are the great area itineraries that suggest the sites you won't want to miss when visiting the area that cover sites such as museums, hiking trails, scenic drives, historical sites, popular restaurants, shopping, lodging, and more!

Of course the guide also covers area lodging, shopping and dining options. Carbon County boasts a great selection of eclectic & unique options so you will want to come back often so you can try a wide variety experiences.

The guide also covers popular area activities and suggests the best times to experience them. There are a variety of annual events you might want to schedule your visit around including the Woodchoppers Jamboree & Rodeo, the Festival of Arts, SummerFest, the Grand Encampment Cowboy Gathering, Mountain Man Rendezvous, Carbon County Fair & Rodeo, Saratoga BullFest, Steinley Cup Microbrew Festival, Haunted Tours at the Wyoming Frontier Prison and much more!

There are lots of ways to get a copy of the new guide.

Carbon County Visitor Guides are being distributed and will be available at the Rawlins Office, Riverside Visitor Center, all Visitor Services Partner locations, and Carbon County attractions, museums,  hotels and kiosk locations. You can also download a digital version or request that a visitors guide be mailed to you from the Carbon County Visitors Council website.
